Summary of the contracting process

The Scottish Government initiated a tender titled "Charter for Anglerfish Survey North Sea" in the industry category of services. The procurement process, led by the Scottish Government in Glasgow, involves inviting demersal trawlers to undertake a survey of the North Sea. The tender specifies a 12-day charter starting on 24th April 2023 and ending on 5th May 2023, with fishing operations in the North Sea. This open procedure presents opportunities for businesses, particularly demersal trawler operators with vessels over 25.9 metres, to compete for the contract.

The active procurement stage for the charter tender by Marine Scotland aims to engage suppliers for the survey. The tender is valued at 180,000 GBP, with an active status inviting electronic submissions by the deadline of 14th April 2023. The procurement method, an open procedure, provides a fair chance for businesses to participate. Businesses in the fishing industry, especially those with the capability to conduct single trawl anglerfish surveys in the North Sea, are well-suited to compete for this contract and potentially foster growth through successful tender submissions.
