Summary of the contracting process

The North Lanarkshire Council has awarded a contract for the Garden Assistance Scheme - North Zone to multiple suppliers for different lots. The procurement process involved establishing a multi-lot framework with several contractors to provide services such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and weed killing. The duration of the contract is from June to October 2023, with an option to extend for the grass cutting season in 2024. The Council used an open procedure for procurement, allowing contractors to bid for one or more lots but be appointed to only one based on preference and evaluation using the MEAT scoring model.

This tender for the Garden Assistance Scheme presents opportunities for businesses in the garden maintenance and landscaping industry to grow. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the services sector with the capacity to fulfil requirements for garden services in specific zones like Airdrie, Coatbridge, and Cumbernauld/Kilsyth/Moodiesburn would be well-suited to compete in this procurement opportunity. The contract details, deadlines, and evaluation criteria are crucial for businesses interested in participating and potentially securing contracts with North Lanarkshire Council.
