Lot Information
Lot 1
The work will involve the Supplier undertaking research to provide evidence on the impact of the Buildings at Risk Register (BARR) in bringing buildings back into use since 2011, when the BARR was brought within the remit of the former RCAHMS. Any other benefits should also be considered. The successful supplier will be expected to engage with HES and others, such as local authorities, grant-giving bodies, heritage professionals, estate agents, developers, and those, including owners, who have repaired and reused buildings. The details of that engagement will be agreed with HES but is expected to include engagement with all Scottish local authorities. The Supplier will be expected to deliver a report to Historic Environment Scotland. The report must cover the following key points and must include evidence-based options and recommendations to inform HES's decisions. While the research should seek to identify exemplars from the other UK home countries, the recommendations must reflect the Scottish market and Scotland's circumstances. The research must focus on the period from 2011.
Renewal: The contract may be extended for up to a further 6 months if required.
