Single Source Term Contract (2 + 2, subject to satisfactory performance and ongoing need)) for the Supply of Big Dye and associated Big Dye T product to MRC-PPU. Required in order to ensure continuity and consistency of sequencing results.
Procurement Information
The Sequencing Facility in MRC-PPU has rightly aggregated their requirement for Big Dye and Big Dye T over a 4 year period, with an overall estimated total value of 100000 GBP. Whilst alternative products are available from other suppliers, ThermoFisher is the market leader. MRC-PPU previously investigated the alternatives; these offered only a very small saving and therefore were viewed as a false economy. They therefore want to award a 4 year contract to ThermoFisher in order to ensure continuity and consistency of supply and therefore results.
