The scope of this tender is for the reception, collection and treatment of food waste.

Lot Information

Lot 1

Glasgow City Council currently provides a weekly household waste collection service for food waste to flatted properties across the city. A commercial food waste collection service is also provided to restaurants/bars within the city and this waste stream is also within the scope of the tender. The council are seeking the most environmentally beneficial process for the treatment of food waste and the supplier will be required to: -Receive food waste (which will be referred to as contract waste) delivered by the council to the supplier's site, or collect food waste from the council's transfer stations -Process / treat food waste for recycling either via anaerobic digestion, or in-vessel composting, meeting the requirements of BSI PAS 110, or BSI PAS 100.

Options: The council reserves the right to source non-core and additional items from the awarded Supplier
