Notice Title
Award of Trunk Road Adaptation Plan - Mini Competition - EEA MFA
Notice Description
The Trunk Road Network (TRN) is highly vulnerable to climate related hazards and is already experiencing the impacts of climate change with more frequent instances of weather-related disruption. With further changes to the weather systems projected, it is essential to increase the resilience of the TRN to adapt to the current and future impacts. To maintain a resilient TRN and drive the change required to adapt the network, we must plan and understand what effect the future impacts of weather-related climate change will have on the TRN.The scope of works requires a consultant to undertake a climate vulnerability and risk assessment using the latest UK Climate Change Projections (UKCP18) from the Met Office. The results from this assessment will be used as a future baseline to understand the potential risks and impacts in each region across the TRN and inform strategic decisions to increase future weather resilience. The outcome of the works is a Trunk Road Adaptation Plan (TRAP) for the agency which identifies and evaluates current and future climate risks and opportunities on the TRN.Full details of the requirements are provided in the Services Brief documentation.
