PROVISION OF RESEARCH TO UNDERSTAND THE EXPERIENCES AND IMPACTS OF 20TH CENTURY POLICIES AFFECTING GYPSY/TRAVELLER COMMUNITIES IN SCOTLAND
Notice Description
The Scottish Government (SG), on behalf of Scottish Ministers, wishes to commission research to improve understanding of historic state policies targeted at Gypsy/Traveller communities in Scotland during the 20th Century, colloquially known as the "Tinker Experiment" and "Tinker Housing Experiments".
Lot Information
Lot 1
The Scottish Government (SG), on behalf of Scottish Ministers, wishes to commission research to improve understanding of historic state policies targeted at Gypsy/Traveller communities in Scotland during the 20th Century, colloquially known as the "Tinker Experiment" and "Tinker Housing Experiments". This research contract has two key aims: 1. To enable members of, and those with links to, the Gypsy/Traveller communities in Scotland an opportunity to share their experiences of events arising from the implementation of these policies (primarily between 1940-1980 but it is acknowledged that key events preceded the implementation of the policies could be brought within scope). This could involve the sharing of experiences or stories. Some contributors may wish to share copies of photographs, paintings, letters and diaries to further illustrate their accounts. 2. To understand the impacts of these policies among Scotland's contemporary Gypsy/Traveller communities.
Renewal: Contract extension is subject to approval by the SG contract manager.
