Notice Description
This procurement is concerned with the purchase of a service led by Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) to provide unpaid carers with support and financial health checks. This in turn informs, enables and empowers unpaid carers to know their rights, to be healthier, happier, and financially better off so they can continue in their caring role. All of which are encompassed by the HSCP's key priorities and principles as laid out within the HSCP's Strategic Commissioning Plan.

Procurement Information
This contract award is in line with Section 12 of the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act and follows the Guidance on the Procurement of Care and Support Services (Best Practice) 2016 - section 8.12. The award is made on the basis of: 1. This requirement will provide advice and support, which constitutes as early intervention and preventative support. Evidence suggests that investing in such projects where support is provided early enough, this in turn unlocks savings from long term care and support packages by reducing the need for such packages; There are no pre-existing contracts or framework agreements which can meet the requirement; The provider is well established and have/are supporting a significant number of unpaid carers for whom this advice is essential to enable them to fulfil their caring roles more effectively to improve their wellbeing and quality of life.
