Notice Description

The City of Edinburgh Council wishes to appoint an independent chair to ensure that the Adult Protection and Support Committee which comprises of representatives from the NHS, Police Scotland, the Council and third sector members discharges its functions in accordance with national guidance. The Chair shall report to the Chief Officers' Group on a regular basis as to the effectiveness of multi-agency activity, policy and guidance and ensure that issues are addressed in conjunction with other public protection Chairs.

The City of Edinburgh Council wishes to appoint an independent chair to ensure that the Adult Protection and Support Committee which comprises of representatives from the NHS, Police Scotland, the Council and third sector members discharges its functions in accordance with national guidance and the work of the Committee is aligned to the aims of Edinburgh's Promise The Chair shall report to the Chief Officers' Group on a regular basis as to the effectiveness of multi-agency child protection activity, policy and guidance and ensure that cross cutting issues are addressed in conjunction with other public protection Chairs. The Chair must be experienced in the provision of services and able to present a fully independent view to the Committee. This requirement is suitable for sole traders. This requirement attracts a rate of 400 GBP per day and the Chair will be expected to work up to 3 - 4 days per month including attendance at meetings. The majority of meeting dates will be scheduled in advance but the chair must be available for ad hoc meetings to undertake specific actions in relation to reviews. The appointment is for two years.
