Extension outwith term of National Framework for the supply of Neurosurgery Consumables to NHS Scotland via the NDS and directly to Health Boards.

Lot Information

Burrs

A drill nose cone should fit onto a generic high speed surgical drill. Different cutting burrs can be attached to the drill via the nose cone. The cutting burrs must be single use and single pack.

Dural Sealant System and Applicator

A Dural sealant is designed to facilitate watertight closure of an intact Dura. This can be used alongside other methods of Dural repair such as sutures. Dural Sealant is used in high leak-risk areas. A Dural sealant needs to be strongly adherent and resist physiological pressure.

Dural Substitute

Dural substitute is a synthetic or animal derived replacement for the Dura and is used when Dural tissue is missing or inadequate. This Dural substitute id designed to facilitate a watertight closure. A Dural substitute needs to be able to bridge gaps and regenerate Dural tissue.

CSF Drainage Catheters inc. Drainage Collection Bags

A catheter used for CSF management and disorders of CSF flow, including the collection bag. This product needs to be antibiotic impregnated.

Shunt Valves

Shunt valves allow a fixed amount of CSF drainage. A programmable shunt valve provides the option of changing the opening pressure of the valve. An important tool in hydrocephalus, especially in complex cases such as paediatric cases.

Cranial Burrhole Plates and Screws

A screw and plate fixation system for bone (cranial or spinal). The screws need to be low profile so that they are not visible through the skin.

Skull Pins
