The University of Edinburgh, on behalf of the Royal College of Surgeons is appointing a specialist Optometry Engagement Manager to engage with key contacts in major high-street optometry chains, as well as NHS, Scottish Government and other stakeholders, to expand participation and further the aims of the NeurEye project. The NeurEye project aims to harness the existing Scottish Collaborative Optometry-Ophthalmology Network e-research (SCONe) image repository to design and deliver a novel, bespoke, AI-driven app to describe neurovascular health based on retinal imaging. The role of the Optometry Engagement Manager is to engage with key contacts in major high-street optometry chains, as well as NHS, Scottish Government and other stakeholders, to expand participation and further the aims of the project. High-level, country-wide engagement is essential to successful involvement of the large chains, in comparison with independent optometry practices. Our proposed supplier has the specific expertise and professional network to undertake this work based on a long career in optometry in Scotland. The appointed Optometry Engagement Manager high-level, country-wide engagement will be essential to successful involvement of the large chains, in comparison with independent optometry practices.
