School Age Childcare Early Adopting Communities Project
Notice Description
The Council is to continue to develop and test a community-based system of school age childcare in Alloa South and East Clackmannanshire and expand this system to include additional communities, over the relevant financial years. The Council will continue to provide targeted school age childcare for children who are recognised as being within one of the six priority groups set out in the Best Start, Bright Futures: Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2022-26 or within the locally recognised priority family of care experienced. Over the relevant financial years, the Council will increase the capacity of the Project to support the number of children receiving childcare in the South and East Alloa area, including the frequency and duration of available provision; the project will expand beyond this area into other targeted Clackmannanshire areas.
Procurement Information
Following Phase 1 & 2 funding received from the Scottish Ministers for Clackmannanshire Council's Early Adopting Communities Project, the Council has received further funding to continue to develop and test a community-based system of before and after school childcare and during holiday periods where families on lowest incomes will pay nothing. The Scottish Ministers funded Project includes for the provision of funding to named providers including Clackmannanshire Sport and Leisure, Community House Alloa, Hawkhill Community Association, Connect Alloa, Play Alloa, Kidz-World, Alva Play Pals, Clackmannan Development Trust, The Gate - Alloa, Forest School Association, Clackmannanshire Economic Development Trust, Stramash, Little Stars, Flying Start Nursery, Glenview Nursery, Action for Children, Homestart, NHS Forth Valley, SCMA, Promoting a More Inclusive Society (PAMIS), Ochil Youth Community Initiative (OYCI, family Support Collaborative. On the basis the funding is to be provided to named providers in terms of the grant conditions and the possibility of competition is therefore absent for technical reasons, the Council intends to rely on Regulation 33 (1)(b)(ii) of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015 to enter into contracts directly with the named providers
