Summary of the contracting process

The City of Edinburgh Council, in collaboration with the Local Employability Partnership and administered by Capital City Partnership, is in the planning stage of the "Network of Employment Support and Training (NEST) Grant Programme 2025-28." This tender focuses on general public services in the Edinburgh region (UKM75) with a primary aim to support target groups experiencing poverty, helping them to progress towards or in employment. Key dates include the application process opening on 2nd September 2024, a draft application deadline on 20th September 2024, and the final application deadline on 11th October 2024 at noon. Feedback on draft applications will be provided between 23rd and 27th September 2024, and recommendations will be discussed by the Housing, Homelessness and Fair Work Committee on 3rd December 2024.

The NEST Grant Programme offers significant opportunities for organisations focused on employability and poverty alleviation to expand their services and influence. Businesses that provide employment support and training services, especially those within the "Joined Up for Jobs" network in Edinburgh, stand to benefit. Grants of up to £100,000 per year are available for three years, contingent on the Scottish Government's annual funding allocations. This programme is an excellent fit for organisations with sustainable funding strategies and the capability to manage distinct projects targeting different client cohorts. Capital City Partnership provides an easy-to-navigate grant application portal and optional feedback on draft applications, enhancing applicants' chances for successful outcomes.
