Notice Description

The purpose of this requirement is to identify a single contractor who can provide demolition services, including clearing the sites to 3 blocks of flats/maisonettes totalling 78 properties. These properties are surplus to requirements and tenants have been re-housed to prepare for their demolition. All 3 blocks are now empty and being secured at a cost to the Housing Revenue Account. Shortly before one block was secured severe vandalism occurred and therefore all 3 blocks are deemed as high risk properties by the Housing Department, fire service and police. Once demolished the land could be used for a housing project and features within the Strategic Housing Investment Plan, although this is at a very early stage.
