The Councils Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, in cooperation with Network Rail and Transport Scotland intend to construct a new car park adjacent to the new location of Hairmyres railway station in East Kilbride. The works consist of 2 elements, the south car park, south of the railway lines and the north car park, on the north side of the railway line.

In order to secure best value for the Council, the Council's Procurement Service identified the most effective route to market as an open tender. A Contract Notice was issued via Public Contracts Scotland on 8 May 2024. Tenders were invited on a Price/Quality basis. The following weightings were used to determine the most economically advantageous tender:- Quality (Technical): 30% Price (Commercial): 70% The successful bidder was the one which achieved the highest combined price/quality score. The mechanism for assessing tenders was comprehensively detailed within the 'Evaluation of Tenders' document contained within the tender process but can be summarised as follows: Stage 1 - Qualification Response Stage 2 - Technical Response Stage 3 - Commercial Response
