Notice Description

The Poverty and Inequality Commission is an advisory non-departmental public body that has statutory functions to provide advice and scrutiny to Scottish Ministers on matters related to poverty and inequality.The Commission wants to procure economic modelling research to better understand how policy levers affect child poverty outcomes for Scotland overall, and for specific sub-groups at greater risk of poverty.This research will build on work previously commissioned by the Commission, and that produced by others in Scotland. It will model and report quantitative estimates (where possible) on the effect of modifying various policy inputs using updated input data for Scotland and parameters determined by the Commission's areas of interest, in relation to Scotland's child poverty targets.It will be conducted using an established economic model (e.g. UKMOD or the IPPR tax-benefit model), with the final output from the procured research being a research report including an executive summary and other associated outputs (e.g. supplementary tables and technical annexes) prepared for the Commission.
