The Supply and Delivery of Winter Plant and Equipment - Utility Vehicles

GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

Glasgow City Council has completed a public procurement process for the supply and delivery of winter plant and equipment, specifically 19 all-terrain, multi-purpose 4x4 utility vehicles fitted with hydraulic tipping bodies and heavy-duty snowblades. This contract, with the primary category being goods, was awarded to HAMILTON BROS. (ENGINEERING) LTD. This open procedure concluded with the signing of the contract on 22nd January 2025. The delivery location for these vehicles is Glasgow City Centre. The vehicles are required to be HVO compliant, with an emphasis on future use of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil as the primary fuel option. The procurement process was part of the council's strategic objective under the industry category of general public services (COFOG code 01) and adhered to the relevant EU and UK legislation.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in specialised vehicle manufacturing, vehicle maintenance training, and fuel supply chains, particularly those involved in alternative fuels such as HVO. SMEs with capabilities in producing robust, multi-functional utility vehicles, and those providing comprehensive aftersales support, would find this contract beneficial. It's especially suitable for businesses that can offer ready-to-use equipment with compliance to stringent quality and environmental standards, fostering long-term partnerships and gaining a foothold in public sector procurement.
