This procurement falls under the health industry category, specifically radiotherapy equipment, and follows an open procedure. The tender period will close on 1st May 2025, with submissions to be made electronically. The project aims to replace the existing linear accelerator, which has reached the end of its operational life, as part of the Scottish Government’s Radiotherapy Capital Equipment Replacement Programme (CERP). Key contacts for this contract are Sara Maciver of NHS Tayside and the review body, Dundee Sheriff Court and Justice of the Peace Court.

This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in medical equipment, particularly those with expertise in high-value, complex installations such as linear accelerators. The open procedure allows for competitive bidding, and businesses with a strong track record in the healthcare sector and the necessary financial stability (minimum annual turnover of GBP 5.5 million) are well-suited to apply. The successful contractor will benefit from acting as the Prime Contractor, taking full responsibility for supply, installation, and ongoing maintenance, thus presenting substantial growth and collaborative opportunities. Additionally, bidders are required to comply with quality management standards and provide proof of relevant experience and certifications, ensuring a high level of expertise and reliability in the execution of this contract.
