Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process for "FTS048 Cleaning Services - Inverness Campus" is orchestrated by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, a regional agency specialising in economic affairs. This tender falls under the services industry category, specifically targeting cleaning services. The contract is situated within Inverness, Scotland, with services delivered to various buildings on Inverness Campus. The procurement utilised an open procedure method. Key dates include a site visit scheduled for 13 January 2026, and the tender submission deadline on 2 February 2026, also marking the commencement of the award period. The process has transitioned from the tender stage, as indicated in recent documents dated March 2026, reflecting a status of cancellation for the initial award notice.

This tender offers potential for significant business growth in the cleaning services sector, estimating an initial budget of GBP 127,800 to GBP 182,600 for the first two years, potentially extending the contract up to five years. Businesses specialising in cleaning, housekeeping, and periodic cleaning services are well-suited for this opportunity, especially those capable of managing a flexible service portfolio to accommodate Inverness Campus's dynamic requirements. Entities with established supply chain management systems and capable of adhering to insurance requirements stand a strong chance. While the award status was unsuccessful, similar opportunities may arise, requiring businesses to be vigilant for future re-tendering actions and preparations for electronic bidding processes through Public Contracts Scotland. Community benefits are considered, adding value beyond mere service provision.
