Notice Description
The Scottish Ministers, Marine Directorate invite tenders for the purchase of remote-download GPS+accelerometry+UHF immersion-proof tags for seabirds and UHF base stations capable of receiving data from the tags.The Scottish Ministers require seabird GPS tags and associated base stations for thepurposes of understanding at sea behaviour and foraging ranges of Northern Fulmar.This requirement is for GPS tags suitable for back-mounting with tesa tape to adult Fulmar. GPS tags must be immersion proof, collect GPS locations at ~144 fixes per day, collect accelerometery data, have remote download via UHF, have a battery life and on-board memory of at least two weeks, and weigh under 7g. Base stations must be immersion-proof, have a battery life of around 28 days and be equipped with a solar panel.
