Summary of the contracting process

The University of Dundee is inviting tenders for "PSSR Asset – Pre Inspection Enablement," a contract focusing on the evaluation and maintenance of the university's operational district heating network and other engineering assets as per the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000. Located in Dundee, the procurement stage is at tender with an open procedure method. Relevant industries include engineering services, specifically those handling pressurisation vessels, chillers, and steam systems. Notably, the deadline for submission has been extended to 23 February 2026, highlighting the need for qualified staff on the evaluation panel. Businesses interested in participating should ensure their bids are submitted electronically or in written format by this date. The contract is valued at GBP 800,000 and extra emphasis is placed on compliance with industry-recognized safety standards.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the mechanical and engineering sectors, especially those with expertise in operational maintenance of heating and pressure systems. Companies with the capacity to engage skilled personnel and those experienced in handling inspection and compliance processes according to the Health and Safety Executive guidelines will find this contract highly compatible with their services. The tender encourages competition from firms able to appoint qualified staff capable of operating within live engineering environments and managing pressure systems safely. By aligning with recognised safety procedures, such as those of the Ministry of Defence, enterprises can demonstrate their suitability and reinforce their reputation within the critical infrastructure sector.
