Summary of the contracting process

The University of Strathclyde is inviting tenders for a contract focused on the supply, delivery, and installation of kitchen materials, bathroom cabinets, and associated products, covering operations for 2026 to 2030. This procurement falls under the education industry category, with the procurement process being managed at the university's premises located in Glasgow, UKM82 region. Currently in its tender stage, the process is using an open procurement method with an electronic submission system, and it is set to end on 1st June 2026. The contract carries a total estimated value of £250,000 and will be awarded on a sole supply basis, emphasising goods supply without installation services, which will be handled by the university's Estates Services team.

This procurement opportunity opens avenues for businesses that specialise in bespoke kitchen and bathroom unit solutions, especially those capable of enhancing existing installation schemes through accurate match, replication, and repair services. The opportunity is ideal for companies demonstrating a sound financial turnover, along with adequate insurance coverage as stipulated by Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations. Moreover, the contract's potential for modification without requiring a new procurement procedure offers long-term business continuity. Businesses focusing on bespoke manufacturing, style matching for existing and discontinued product lines, and repairs are particularly well-suited to compete for this tender, offering a strategic entry into supplying educational institutions in Scotland.
