FIFE COUNCIL

This public procurement record has 1 release in its history.

Summary of the contracting process

Fife Council has recently completed a contract award concerning social work taxi exemptions for the period of April 2025 to March 2026. Located in Glenrothes, Fife Council operates within the UKM72 region and classified under general public services and housing and community amenities. The procurement process was initiated without a prior publication call due to specific requirements for certain service users who have been identified as exempt from the existing Transport Framework. This decision is supported by relevant provisions under the Procurement Reform (Scotland) Act 2014 and public contracts regulations. The contract was signed on 31st March 2026, with a value amounting to £160,023.50 GBP.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses primarily involved in transportation services, particularly those specialising in social and community-related transports. Large-scale suppliers such as A1 Cabs, The Taxi Centre Fife Ltd, Fife Wide Taxis LTD, Taxi Central Ltd, and M&H Contracts Ltd have been awarded the contract to ensure continuity and meet the complex needs of the service users. The limited procurement method utilised suggests a favourable environment for businesses that can offer tailored transport solutions and demonstrate a capacity to handle sensitive and specialised transport requirements for social work needs in Fife, Scotland.
