DMHR require a suitably capable and experienced training provider to deliver Medical Care onboard Ship training for Masters, Skippers and Chief Officers within the David MacBrayne Group. Medical Care training is intended for seafarers who are designated to take charge of Medical Care on board our vessels. Training must be delivered at a venue in or around the surrounding areas of Glasgow to accommodate the requirements for delegate transportation and cost. All Proficiency in Medical Care training must be delivered by an MCA approved training provider, meeting the standards laid down in section A-VI/4, paragraphs 4 to 6 of the STCW Code. Practical and theoretical training must include but not be limited to the following: Care of the casualty Aspects of nursing Diseases Alcohol and drug abuse Dental care Gynaecology, pregnancy and childbirth Medical care of rescued persons Death at sea Disease prevention Record keeping

Renewal: Extension options of 3 x 12 month periods. The maximum term shall be 60 months.
