The Greater Manchester local authorities have formed a network of air quality monitoring stations to share information and resources between the 10 boroughs of Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford and Wigan. The network is referred to as the Greater Manchester Air quality Network (GMAQN). There is also the option for Transport for Greater Manchester to be part of this network and utilise this contract. The GMAQN is seeking to appoint suitable contractors to provide a flexible, responsive and consistently high quality service in relation to the servicing, maintenance, quality assurance & control (QA/QC) and data management of their reference automatic air quality monitoring units and other related support services. The current combined bridleway, pedestrian, cycle footpath (starts near St Gabriel's High School) which is situated on the former Bury to Bolton Railway Line ends in the cutting near Kingston Close, where there is a ramp to continue the cycleway and separate set of steps (located further down) to provide pedestrian access. Any new path cannot be carried on in the cutting section due to it being in private ownership. The existing bridleway way combined path continues from a bridge access on Buckingham Drive across the fields to Ainsworth.
