Notice Title

Data Modernisation Technologies and Patterns

Notice Description

This interim contract is a single supplier service contract that enables D&A to run the Local Labour Market Product MVP and maintain delivery momentum. The Supplier will continue to work through the agreed backlog whilst supporting and maintaining the MVP. Under the interim contract, work will commence on a major new deliverable: a Virtualisation Service based on Denodo Software to enable high-performance data integration and data abstraction across DWP Legacy and Cloud-based Services. The Virtualisation service will form the backbone of D&A's Data Access Layer which is a key technical component of D&A's Data Delivery Strategy. This interim contract will allow D&A to maintain the planned timeline for delivery of the Virtualisation service. To reduce D&A reliance on supplier-delivered data design and delivery services over the longer term, the interim contract includes a requirement for the Supplier to coach DWP staff (who will be identified and made available by D&A) to a standard where they will be able to design, support and maintain Platform Wrapper Services. The intent is to gradually introduce DWP staff to the Platform Wrapper to work alongside the Supplier until such time that there are enough DWP staff proficient in all aspects of design and delivery. The Supplier will retain full responsibility for the management and execution of all PW services and deliverables until this position is reached.
