DVLA Swansea is situated over a number of sites within the Swansea area. To connect between these sites DVLA chose a highly resilient Dense Wave Division Multiplexed (DWDM) Fibre Optic solution which provides sufficient band width to ensure it doesn't constraint the business or risk the integrity of data/services. The initial Fibre Optic solution encompassed 2 local DVLA sites which was later expanded into a third DVLA site to include a new data centre and print facility. The solution will be based within DVLA data-centre environments. The details held here are for the final year extension period of a 3 year contract with two one year extension periods. The initial contract award date was 01/09/13.
