Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process titled "St James Public Art" was initiated by North East Lincolnshire Council, aiming to enhance public spaces through bespoke art fabrication and installation in St James Square, Grimsby. This project falls under the construction industry and is part of a larger regeneration programme supported by Arts Council England's Cultural Development Fund. The contract, valued at £50,000, has already been awarded to Blackrow Engineering Co. Limited following a restricted tendering procedure, with the award date noted on 4 June 2021. The project is set to commence on the same date and is scheduled for completion by 15 September 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in construction and public art, particularly those with experience in fabrication and installation of artistic structures. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, as the project favours their involvement. Companies with a strong background in urban regeneration projects or those that can demonstrate innovative approaches to public space enhancement will be well-suited to compete for similar contracts in the future.
