Summary of the contracting process

United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust bought renal haemofiltration consumables, specifically continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) consumables for critical care departments. This is a goods requirement covering renal consumables used in hospital-based critical care. Delivery is associated with the Trust in Lincoln and the East of England. The buying organisation is United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The requirement sits within the clinical supplies market and is relevant to manufacturers, distributors and healthcare procurement specialists supplying consumables for renal replacement therapy. The CPV classification is 33181500, covering renal consumables. The scope is a supply arrangement rather than a construction, consultancy or general hospital-services contract.

This procurement is complete and has been awarded through a selective call-off from the NHS Supply Chain framework 2023/S 000-017117. NHS Supply Chain Coordination Limited was selected as supplier. The award date was 8 May 2026, with an awarded value of £251,894 including the stated currency, and a contract period from 8 May 2026 to 31 March 2028. The underlying tender deadline was 1 October 2025 at 12:00. The call-off route was approved through the Trust’s CAR process in November 2025, and the fully signed agreement commenced on 8 May 2026. The procurement was not divided into lots. The recorded suitability assessment states that it was not suitable for SMEs or voluntary, community and social enterprises.

For suppliers that did not win, this award demonstrates established demand from United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for CRRT consumables supporting critical care. A credible future competitor would need a dependable range of renal haemofiltration consumables, the ability to supply hospital critical-care departments consistently, and the operational capacity to work through an NHS Supply Chain framework call-off. The award indicates that the buyer uses a framework-based purchasing route rather than an open standalone tender, so relevant framework access and compliant supply arrangements would be important. Suppliers should be able to support NHS procurement, distribution and contract-management requirements at a scale suited to a multi-year hospital consumables arrangement. The opportunity is therefore most relevant to established healthcare manufacturers, specialist distributors and framework suppliers.
