Summary of the contracting process

The Sheffield City Council is currently managing the tender titled "Enterprise Adviser Network," aimed at enhancing the transition of young people from education to employment within the education and training services sector. This procurement process is at the tender stage, with the deadline for submissions set for 20th December 2018. The contract is valued at £20,617 and will commence on 2nd January 2019, concluding on 31st August 2019. The services are intended to be delivered in the Yorkshire and the Humber region of the United Kingdom, employing an open procurement method to attract a broad range of proposals.

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) that specialise in education and training services. Businesses capable of facilitating connections between educational institutions and employers, as well as providing comprehensive careers guidance, would be well-positioned to compete. The initiative seeks to promote enhanced career engagement through seven employer encounters for each participant, thereby creating a strong potential for companies focused on youth employment and educational partnerships.

Notice Title

Enterprise Adviser Network

Notice Description

The Enterprise Adviser Network contributes to Sheffield City Council's priorities to help young people to achieve successful transition between phases of education towards adulthood and employment. The Enterprise Adviser Network, an initiative launched in 2015 through the national Careers and Enterprise Company, has been developed on strong evidence published by the Gatsby Foundation that employer encounters can significantly reduce the likelihood of a young person becoming NEET by helping to improve skills needed for employment and raising awareness of the opportunities in the world of work. The programme helps to 'join the dots' between educators and employers at a local level. Its ambition is to simplify engagement between schools, colleges and employers and support the development of a whole school careers plan that includes 7 employer encounters for every young person whilst in education.
