A57 R&D Surveys
Notice Description
Surveys before demolition and refurbishment are required under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. The surveys will be undertaken to comply with the duty to manage asbestos in premises. The aim of an asbestos survey is, as far as reasonably practical, to locate and assess all the ACMs present in the building and its purpose is to present the information collected in the way which allows the employer to manage the risk. A refurbishment and demolition asbestos survey is required to be undertaken, in accordance to HSG264, Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the scheme asbestos management plan. The survey will locate and describe, as far as reasonably practicable, all ACMs in the building. The survey will be fully intrusive and involve destructive inspection, as necessary, to gain access to all areas, including those difficult to reach. This survey will be undertaken on: * 4 no. Commercial properties (industrial units) * 25 No. residential properties (including detached garages) * 1 no. Stable block / Barn A full and thorough survey of the building will be necessary and will be conducted to determine the full extent of asbestos internally and externally of the areas designated at the aforementioned mentioned property. The supplier shall provide the necessary tools and equipment (access equipment (note the use of ladders is prohibited), hand tools, and sampling tools) to gain access to the areas being surveyed. All keys to doors and duct covers have to be made available to all areas and in so doing facilitating a full and concise survey with continuity of work. The survey findings shall be presented in a single electronic copy, together with marked up drawings of each floor of the building, (the original drawings to be supplied prior to the survey being undertaken) and photographs of the location of all ACM. The report should include an overview of the finding from the survey, any hazards identified, and necessary recommendations along with a risk assessment. A detailed asbestos register section to be contained in the report appendix. The survey is to be completed for each demolition asset and a detailed report to be produced for each.
