Summary of the contracting process

The North England Forest District Ground Preparation Framework, initiated by Forestry England, aims to secure a contract for ground preparation works within various locations including Kielder Forest, Rothbury, Hamsterley, Bowland, Grizedale, and North & West Cumbria. Currently in the Tender stage, the procurement method follows an open procedure, with submissions due by 12:00 on 30 March 2020. The contract is expected to commence on 20 April 2020 and last until 20 April 2024. This opportunity falls under the forestry services category and is targeted at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in line with the contracting authority's preferences.

This tender presents significant opportunities for SMEs engaged in forestry services, particularly those with expertise in ground preparation techniques such as trench mound work, site drainage, and scarification. Competitors should ideally possess experience in large-scale land management and environmental services within the specified geographical areas. As Forestry England is actively seeking to foster partnerships with local suppliers, businesses that can demonstrate sustainability and expertise in similar projects are likely to thrive in this competitive bidding process.
