Summary of the contracting process

The London Borough of Sutton is currently soliciting tenders for the construction of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) within three schools as part of its project aimed at reducing flood risks and enhancing playground drainage. This tender is in the open procurement stage and is set to close on 1 April 2019. The selected contractor will be required to execute the construction phase during the summer holidays of 2019, with the project area located in Sutton, London, United Kingdom. The anticipated contract period spans from 1 May 2019 to 31 October 2019. This project falls within the works category, specifically landscaping and drainage construction.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction companies, particularly those with expertise in sustainable drainage systems and experience working within educational environments. Businesses that specialise in landscaping, drainage construction, or those that are equipped to undertake large-scale projects during school vacation periods would be particularly well-suited to compete. Given the requirement for innovative designs that integrate educational and recreational features, companies that prioritise stakeholder engagement, especially with children and schools, will also have a competitive edge.
