Summary of the contracting process

ESPO, located in Leicester, England, has awarded a GBP 16,000,000 framework agreement for "245_25 Grounds Maintenance Services" across the United Kingdom. The framework splits into two lots: Grounds Maintenance Services and Arboriculture Services, covering services such as grass cutting, shrub maintenance, weeding, sports pitch marking, and winter grounds services like gritting. The procurement process was conducted through an open procedure above the threshold, with a tender period ending on 15 November 2024 and a contract period starting on 1 January 2025, running until 31 December 2026. This project, classified under CPV codes 77211400 (Tree-cutting services) and 77314000 (Grounds maintenance services), saw active awards on 25 March 2025 to multiple suppliers including ALBEN LANDSCAPES LIMITED, BEACONS TREE SERVICES LTD, and CHEVRON GREEN SERVICES LIMITED.

This framework represents a significant opportunity for businesses involved in grounds maintenance and arboriculture services to secure long-term contracts, drive growth, and expand their portfolios. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations are particularly well-suited to compete, with ESPO monitoring financial stability to ensure robust and reliable partners. The opportunity to engage with ESPO Trading Limited on materially similar terms further diversifies potential business opportunities, while the framework's option for extension provides an extended timeframe for sustained business growth.
