Please note this market engagement closes on Thursday 31st May 2018 at 12:00. Herefordshire Council has a statutory responsibility to establish a permanent body, called a Standing Advisory Council for Religious Education (SACRE) to advise them on matters concerned with the provision of Religious Education and Collective Worship. (Section 390 of the Education Act 1996). Herefordshire Council wish to commission a specialist RE consultant to support RE provision and provide support for SACRE in the following ways: * Provide support for 2 SACRE meetings a year, working alongside the LA Lead Officer for SACRE, advising on current matters relating to RE and best practice in schools * Support Herefordshire strategic Group for RE - consisting of some members of SACRE and identified strong practitioners from Schools across the county. Also to provide written reports from this group to SACRE - 2 meetings a year, one in the autumn term and one in the spring term * To support the monitoring of RE and Collective Worship across the County through the implementation of the SACRE Annual Survey * Encourage participation of teachers in the Annual RE Conference (This is externally planned and provided by RE Today) This is a term time only contract, reporting to the Lead officer for SACRE As part of a soft market testing exercise the council is seeking responses to the following questionnaire from organisations that have a track record providing specialist RE consultation services.
