Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process titled "Longrock Coastal Protection_Penzance_Stage 2" involves the Cornwall Council, based in Wadebridge, England. This tender is focused on the industry of mechanical shovels, excavators, and related machinery, with a contract value of £30,000. The procurement is currently in the open tender stage, with a submission deadline set for 12pm on 8 March 2019. The procurement method employed is the open procedure, allowing any interested parties to submit proposals, while the contract period will commence on 11 March 2019 and conclude on 31 July 2019. Deliveries of equipment, including a 22T excavator and several 9T dumpers, are required on specified dates, with strict conditions regarding delivery methods due to site access restrictions.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in plant hire and machinery, particularly those equipped to offer Bio-Oil converted equipment. Companies that can demonstrate quick response times for maintenance and support, ideally within a two-hour window, will be favoured. The conditions imposed by the funding bodies indicate a preference for suppliers that can comply with regulatory standards and maintain high environmental considerations. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with experience in large-scale excavation or related services may find this contract suitable for growth, especially those based in or near the South West region of the UK.
