Summary of the contracting process

The Surrey County Council is currently managing the "SCC AM Caterham on the Hill and Old Coulsdon Flood Alleviation Scheme," which is a completed award for a flood-prevention works project. This scheme involves implementing Property Flood Resilience measures to various properties in the South East region of the United Kingdom, specifically aimed at minimising the impact of flooding on households. The contract period commenced on 1st June 2021 and will conclude on 31st May 2023. The tender had a value of £1,950,000 and was awarded on 20th April 2021.

This procurement presents substantial opportunities for construction firms, especially those experienced in flood prevention and resilience solutions, including the installation of flood-proof doors and internal mitigation improvements. Companies specialising in environmental works, alongside larger contractors capable of handling significant infrastructures, are particularly well-suited for this kind of contract. As the focus on climate resilience grows, engaging in such tenders can enhance business visibility and foster growth in the construction sector.
