Notice Information
Notice Title
Provision of Whitehall Boiler Systems Relagging Project
Notice Description
Government Property Agency (GPA) requires a Contractor to replace lagging to 2000m of pipework on the Whitehall Boiler System (WBS) during the "summer period" of April to September 2021. Net Zero is the UK Government's statutory target for at least a 100% reduction of UK Greenhouse Gas Emissions (GHG) by 2050, against 1990 levels. In June 2019, secondary legislation was passed that extended that target to "at least 100%". If met, this would effectively mean the UK would end its contribution to global emissions by 2050. According to the Committee on Climate Change's most recent report to Parliament, significant work is required to be undertaken for the UK to achieve its targets.
