Summary of the contracting process

Nottinghamshire County Council is seeking to establish a new framework contract for legal services, titled "EM Lawshare Framework Contract for Legal Services." This tender falls within the legal services industry category and is set to replace an expiring contract at the end of March 2018. The tender period concludes on 21 August 2017, leading into a four-year contract that will commence on 1 April 2018 and run until 31 March 2022. The process is being conducted through a selective procurement method, specifically a restricted procedure, and the total estimated contract value is £30 million.

This procurement presents a significant opportunity for private law firms looking to expand their client base, particularly those capable of handling a variety of legal services, including contracts, civil litigation, and corporate governance. The consortium comprises 121 members, including various councils, NHS trusts, and other public entities, indicating a broad market potential. Given that the framework allows other contracting authorities in England and Wales to join, this contract could benefit firms that are agile in adapting to varying legal needs across different sectors.
