Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process is being managed by Mott MacDonald Limited, focusing on the "Avanti School Temporary Site" project, which falls under the construction industry category, specifically for school building works. Located at Narborough Road, Leicester (LE3 0BT), this project is currently in the planning stage, with a budget of £950,000 allocated for refurbishment works. The contract is set to start on 3rd March 2019 and is scheduled to be completed by 5th July 2019, targeting the accommodation of additional classrooms and facilities to meet the needs of secondary school students.

This tender presents a valuable opportunity for businesses specialising in construction, particularly those with experience in educational facilities, refurbishment, and compliance with safety regulations. Companies that focus on design and build contracts, or possess expertise in managing projects in occupied premises—with considerations for noise, dust, and safeguarding—will find this tender well-suited to their capabilities. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to participate, ideally those equipped to handle the challenges associated with working in a live school environment while adhering to health and safety standards.
