Notice Title

GB-Bristol: Westonbirt Arboretum Community Shelter Build (shelter to be built from green timber, with significant community group involvement)

Notice Description

We are looking for a contractor who can demonstrate experience of working with unskilled labour (including people with different needs) to build a new timber structure/shelter. We will be awarding a contract for leading the construction of a new community shelter in Silk Wood, Westonbirt Arboretum. This will provide a permanent base for our community programme and replaces a structure which was removed in 2017. The successful contractor will place our community groups at the central of their construction process, ensuring that every stage enables participants to help build the structure safely. Bidders will be expected to give a breakdown of how they plan to build structure and show how this provides suitable tasks for community participants to support. Additional information: The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement.
