Summary of the contracting process

The Isle of Wight Council is planning a tender for "Vehicle Maintenance Services on the Isle of Wight," with an estimated contract value of £556,000. The procurement falls under the category of repair and maintenance services for motor vehicles, and it aims to establish a framework agreement that allows local eligible organisations to engage in this opportunity. The contract will be available in various lots, with the future advertisement expected to occur at the beginning of December 2020. The contract period is set to run from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2025, following the expiry of the current contracts in early 2021.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the vehicle maintenance sector, particularly those specialising in MOTs, servicing, bodywork repairs, and mobile services. Companies that are well-suited to compete include local garages and auto repair businesses, especially those capable of serving one or more specific lots outlined in the framework. By registering on the Isle of Wight Council's ProContract e-tendering system, interested suppliers can receive notifications about this and other forthcoming contract opportunities, thereby enhancing their chances for business growth in the region.
