Summary of the contracting process

The General Medical Council (GMC) is seeking suppliers for an "Online Legal Research" service within the Legal advisory and information services industry. The procurement process is in the Tender stage, and the method used is an open procedure (below threshold). Key requirements include access to extensive UK case law and consolidated legislation, as well as specific court rulings. Training, either via video link or at GMC's Manchester office, is needed initially and for supporting new users over the contract period, which runs from 1st November 2024 to 31st October 2026. The tender is targeted towards suppliers who can provide website access to a maximum of 80 users without requiring individual logins, with a submission deadline of 10th September 2024. The service is to be delivered to regions in the North West and London, United Kingdom.

This tender offers substantial business growth opportunities for vendors specialising in legal information systems and services. It is particularly suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) capable of providing comprehensive legal research tools and training services. The requirement for a broad range of legal information access and training support indicates potential long-term engagement and recurring revenue. Companies with expertise in digital legal platforms, especially those able to offer additional journal services on Judicial Review, the Regulation of Healthcare Professionals, and the Civil Procedure Rules, would find this tender aligned with their service offerings.
