Notice Title

Provision of PET-CT Scanner and Facility Services

Notice Description

RLBUHT currently delivers a PET CT scanner service covering a wide range of clinical specialities. The Trust is subcontracted by Alliance Medical to provide PET CT to the North Cheshire and Merseyside cohort of the National Contract and carries out research activity and non-contract activity as part of the RLBUHT service. The RLBUHT scanner is now working 6 days per week at full capacity. With activity within the service forecast to grow 10% year on year, the Trust requires an additional scanner to provide sufficient headroom to cope with this increase in demand. Provision of an additional scanner will also support the service's business continuity plan during the transfer to the new Royal hospital, currently scheduled in 2020. RLBUHT does not currently have the premises available to house an additional scanner.
