Summary of the contracting process

The University of Southampton has successfully completed a public procurement contract for the Digital Transformation Support Services - Transition Delivery project. This contract, classified under the CPV code for web page editing software package, was valued at £360,000. The procurement method employed was a selective approach, specifically through a call-off from the CCS G-Cloud12 Framework. The contract period commenced on 7 January 2022 and is set to conclude on 31 July 2022, with all deliverables required to be met by the end of the tender period, which closed on 22 December 2021. The location for the execution of this contract is Southampton, England.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly those with expertise in web development and content management systems. Companies involved in web page editing software and development services would be well-suited to follow similar tenders in the future. As this project involved transitioning critical digital content to a new platform, businesses that can demonstrate experience with Drupal 9 or similar technologies will find themselves competitive in this space. Additionally, as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary and community sector enterprises (VCSE) are encouraged, there is potential for diverse suppliers to engage and thrive in such projects.

Notice Title

Digital Transformation Support Services - Transition Delivery project

Notice Description

The University of Southampton completed the final funded stage of a digital transformation project in July 2021. In order for the University to realise the benefits set up by the programme, it is essential to transition relevant and appropriate content, following the methodology established by the preceding programme, from one content management system ("CMS") to a new platform and information architecture built on Drupal 9. Since April 2019, the University OneWeb Programme team ("Team") have been working to deliver against the planned scope and deliverables contained within the business case. The Team now requires support with specific deliverables using expertise and experience that is not currently present within it's organisation, in order to complete the transition at scale work. Additional information: Desktop Exercise performed under the CCS G-Cloud12 Framework
