Summary of the contracting process

The Forestry Commission, acting through Forestry England, has initiated a tender process for Civil Engineering Works with the aim of executing various construction activities. The procurement process is at the Tender stage and uses an open procedure. The project encompasses several tasks including the construction and significant upgrades of granular forest roads, trails, and forestry infrastructure within the South East region of the United Kingdom. The tender has a value of £20,000,000 and the procurement method is open. Key deadlines include the tender period ending on 22 October 2024, with the contract period running from 1 December 2024 to 23 February 2029.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in civil engineering works, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Companies with expertise in excavation, drainage installation, soft and steep ground working, material procurement and compaction, retaining wall construction, and utility service installation are well-suited to compete. The variety and scale of the projects, ranging from £50,000 to £250,000, provide ample opportunities for growth, allowing firms to showcase their capabilities and establish long-term partnerships with Forestry England.
