External of the building there is an eight-lane athletics track, two full-size sand-dressed Astro turf pitches, six tarmacadam Tennis Courts, three 7 a side 3G pitches, and four 5 a side 3G pitches. In recent years, the facility has had re-investment allowing it to extend and be refurbished where applicable to meet with customer's needs. They operate at a high level and currently hold a customer satisfaction NPS score of 54 and a QUEST assessment rating of 'Excellent'. As part of its lifecycle replacement, sustainability, and customer experience objectives, Sportspark has given consideration to an extensive upgrade of its facility outdoor lighting provision. The current system of metal halide lighting does not provide the energy efficiencies required, nor the lighting standards or business continuity demanded at such a busy facility. The UEA is therefore planning for an upgrade of all external sports facility lighting to deliver LED lighting across those areas.
