Notice Information
Notice Title
Platoon Organic Fire Support -RFI
Notice Description
The British Army is seeking to enhance the capability of the Infantry Company, in order to reduce reliance on capabilities held at Battlegroup and above such as the 81mm Mortar. Currently, an Infantry Company can project effects (HE, Smoke and Illumination) to 350m (area effect) using the in-service Underslung Grenade Launchers held in each Platoon. The British Army needs to deliver multiple precision effects, at range (1000m+). The capability will be held at the lowest level and without unduly increasing the physical burden on the user either as individuals or as a group. If a launcher platform is required then utilising in-service weapons should be the focus. Precision could be delivered to reduce the risk of collateral damage, increase the probability of an effective hit on a variety of targets and reduce the physical burden on the user by minimising the load required to be carried. A new capability should be able to deliver many novel effects on various different targets This is a request for Information to ascertain the Market capability of meeting the potential requirement.
