Summary of the contracting process

The Crown Commercial Service is conducting a procurement process for "General Legal Services" within the legal services industry across England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. The procurement is currently in the Award stage, with a contract period that commenced on 6 March 2017 and is set to conclude on 5 March 2019. This initiative is part of a Panel Agreement valued at £320 million and includes an initial two-year term, with options for extensions. The tender period ended on 28 September 2016, and this opportunity is open to various suppliers as part of a tiered system, ensuring accessibility to multiple service providers.

This procurement represents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that specialise in legal services. Those interested can establish contracts with the Crown Bodies and other specified users, potentially enhancing their market position within the public sector. Businesses capable of providing legal advisory services across diverse areas may find this a particularly lucrative opportunity, with pathways for collaboration or subcontracting with the imposed Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers also available.
