The University of Exeter Medical School is looking to appoint an IT specialist (on a consultancy basis) to support the procurement of a complex data collection and management system, associated with the delivery of a new research project, known as SMARTLINE. SMARTLINE is funded with support from the European Regional Development Fund. This SMART homes, SMART communities project will collect environmental data from 350 homes in Cornwall, in addition we will collect data from the occupants about their lifestyles and aspirations, This data will form a part of a comprehensive data web that we will construct around these individuals to support their health and wellbeing and to, where possible, connect individuals more effectively within their local community - though volunteering, through community activities, etc. SMARTLINE will seek to establish mechanisms to understand and respond to the needs of individuals more effectively through the use of machine-learning, early intervention and supporting community engagement. This role will support the SMARTLINE project team and the University of Exeter Procurement Specialists, to carry out an effective circ. PS1.5mill IT data system to support this activity.
